In 2008, we remodeled this homeowner's kitchen and back sun porch. This kitchen previously had a wrap around island with upper cabinets that divided the cooking and eating areas of the kitchen. We redesigned the look of the kitchen to fit the homeowner's needs. Removing the wrap around island and uppers we then added a freestanding island to open up the room. Around the kitchen we removed soffits and than double stacked the upper cabinets, using seedy glass in the doors with cabinet lighting along the top. In the eating area we also added a beverage center with wine refrigerator and we removed a spindle rail and added a 3 seat snack area with pencil drawer storage. BrookHaven Cabinets with Winfield Raised Square Door style with a Lace Finish on Oak was used on the perimeter cabinets and a darker Sierra Finish was used on the new island, beverage center, and snack bar. The screened in sun porch off of the kitchen was remodeled opening up the doorway and making it a 4 season room for the family to enjoy all year long! Wood floors were used though the kitchen and porch and a heated flooring system was installed in the 4 season room.
This 2007 job was another complete gut of an old home. We replaced all the windows, doors, and siding, built a wooden fireplace, two bathrooms, all of the closets, a foyer display cabinet and of course the kitchen! BrookHaven cabinets in Cherry wood with an Amber finish with Black glaze were used in the Kitchen, foyer, and fireplace. The Kitchen used Andover Raised Curved Doors for the uppers and Andover Raised Square Doors for the bases. An island with beautiful decorative posts and glass mullion doors on the pantry wall make for a wonderfully elegant look. The bathrooms used the same door style arrangement but used Maple wood with an Antique White Finish with Espresso Glaze in the main bath, and the Antique White Finish with charcoal glaze on Maple Wood in the Master bath. All in all, the remodel gave this older home a beautiful face lift and a brand new feel!
The entire inside of this house was designed and built by The Kitchen Shoppe in 2006 after gutting out the old work shop on the 1st floor of the home. Two bathrooms, a library, a laundry room, a pantry, the kitchen, a wet bar, and a television entertainment center were all installed using BrookHaven cabinetry. A beautiful mix of Knotty Cherry wood with a Matte Natural Finish with Black Glaze and a Maple Wood with Black finish on the Andover Raised Square Door were used throughout the home. Granite counter tops were used throughout the entire house as well.
The unique story behind this BrookHaven kitchen shows the true quality of the cabinets! The cabinets were originally installed in the WoodMode showroom in Pennsylvania for a national magazine shoot. The Kitchen Shoppe purchased the cabinets in 1990 to install in their showroom here in Kenosha. There they were used for customers to see on display until spring of 2004, when the showroom was redone and the homeowners purchased them for their own home! The cabinets, which are Frost on Oak wood, were color matched by the factory when new cabinets were ordered to add to the existing display to fill the homeowner's needs. To this day no one can tell which ones were the display and which were the color matched! The kitchen, a very small room in the house with very little counter top space and storage, was opened up by knocking down the wall between the kitchen and living room and adding a lovely bay window in the living room. What was once a cramped, hard to use area has now become the center of activity in the house! A pantry cabinet added plenty of food storage and a large granite peninsula island not only gives a wonderful place for the family to eat but also provides plenty of counter top work space!
Completed in 2002 this Kitchen remodel started by knocking out a wall between the kitchen and dining room (where the snack island is now) to open up a before small kitchen. There was also a seldom used doorway closed on the stove wall to allow for much needed cabinet and counter top space. The homeowner chose BrookHaven II cabinets varying the look by going with Andover Cathedral Doors on the uppers and Andover Square Doors on the lowers. An Eggshell finish on maple wood brightened up the kitchen. Corian counter tops were used around the kitchen with the homeowner opting for a beautiful granite top for the drop down snack area!
